All 11 of my grooming video's are made for the novice pet owner who knows nothing about grooming, and wants to safely groom their pet at home using simple techniques and common sense. They are not made for professional groomers or show dogs. They show simplified pet trims to keep your dog looking good all of the time. With my techniques, no one will know you do not go to a professional groomer. I have been a groomer for 17+ years, and I am going to share my grooming secrets with you. For every breed, I show you grooming techniques on the actual breed of dog on the title. Real dogs who wiggle, squirm, and might not be too happy with the grooming process. My models are specially chosen from my grooming clientele, to reflect the problems you might encounter at home. I do not use trained models, but real dogs, just like yours at home. All of the DVD's have just been updated to make it even easier for you to learn from them. I go into great detail, and show you how to do the things that your groomer does on a routine basis, and that need to be done routinely by you to keep your dog in optimum health.

Included in the basics are: nail trimming, foot pad shaving, ear plucking & cleaning, anal gland care, bathing and blow drying, as well as clipper use and scissoring techniques geared to your specific breed. Grooming your own pet has other benefits too! With routine hands on care of your dog, you will know of any health or physical changes sooner than most pet owners. Finding problems with your pet and getting fast medical care for them can lengthen the lifespan of your dog. This is a brand new, recently updated, 110 minute, video on DVD that will show you how to groom your pet Shih-Tzu at home. I go into great detail for nail trimming, foot pad trimming, ear plucking & cleaning, and how to properly empty the anal glands. I also show you how to bath and blow dry your Shih-Tzu. These are all of the routine things that need to be done for every breed of dog on a regular basis, and is usually done routinely at your groomers.

In this newly updated version I show you 5 different Shih-Tzu models for the body and head styles, and I also added 2 different yorkies as top knot models, just to better show you how to do the job right!

First you will see all of the grooming supplies you will need, where to buy them, and then how to properly use them to safely groom your dog at home.

I show you how to do a "puppy cut", and the traditional trim, which is a "regular" long haired breed standard trim. I teach you two different head styles, the "teddy bear" rounded face and head, and the top knot similar to what the show dogs wear in the ring. This video was made to show the pet owner simple and safe ways to groom your pet at home, even if you have never done this before.

The first model is a young Shih-Tzu who is not too cooperative (just like you might encounter at home) and he gets a natural or traditional long style, nails clipped, ears cleaned and plucked, and a bath demo.

The second model is an older male who is much calmer, and I again show you nail trimming, ear cleaning and plucking, how to shave the foot pads.

The third model shows you a good close up on how to trim the toe nails and how to pluck & clean the ears, & how to empty the anal glands. Also a bathing and blow drying demo. I try not to be too repetitious in my grooming videos, but some things will show you better how to do them, so I do repeat these necessary items so you can learn and understand it all a bit easier.

The fourth model is a 9 month old female who gets a natural style. Although her coat is not long to the floor, this shows you the techniques used for a coat that flows to the floor, and how to maintain it that way. Also a topknot demo. Although she gets a topknot, her hair was not all that long, so I also added 2 yorkies who were better models for the topknots. It is the same technique, and I wanted you to get the most out of this video.

I then added a 5th Shih-Tzu and repeated another view of the teddy bear face and head. I believe that you learn more be seeing it from different angles and on different models.

There is nothing out there that will teach you how to groom your dog that is better than a video, that shows you every detail in a step by step approach. Books just don't cut it when it comes to learning the proper way to do this. You can pause the action and re-watch it over and over if you need to.
